You can speak to Rayne at Teleray opposite Tyger Wheel & Tyre and
Katz Camera World in Cape Road/2nd ave.
Also try Space TV or Ellies (Next door to each other) off Main St
in Crawford Street. (The buildings have big satellite dishes
outside.). Personal opinion would be rather use Teleray and Space
(specialists) - have no problems with them. Ellies sell the
Zinwell ZDX9111 decoder which is cheap and performs ok. If you
know someone who sells electronic goods or aerials and has
dealership with ellies, ask them to buy it for you as this will
be cheaper.
Basically a minimum of 2.5m C-Band is needed. Bigger is better -
if you have space and can afford a bigger dish. Ask for a second
hand dish if you haven't got the cash.
FTA receiver. Digital. Ask for prices on a second hand as well.
Often people decide on buying a dish and are disappointed as to
what they actually get and try resell equipment.
While you're at one of the shops, they'll give you prices on
installing the dish, the LNB, cable & F-conns, CAMS? (if you're
watching encrypted) etc. Best thing is to ask them as they'll
also tell you what you can watch (as there isn't really that
much)
There are other people selling decoders and dishes in PE as well.
You'll find them in the weekend swops.
So checklist will be
1) dish
2) lnb
3) cable & connectors
4) receiver
5) other - smart card, CAM
